Aston Villa Foundation – Princes Trust

Aston Villa was one of the first clubs to have a relationship with the Prince’s Trust since the Trust began working with football clubs in 1997.

The Aston Villa Foundation supports the Prince’s Trust through several programmes.
The Get Started With Football Programme is a week-long course for 14 to 25-year-olds who are not involved in education, employment or training to be trained by qualified football professionals.

The aim of the programme is to increase levels of employability, encourage young people to think about how they can get into education, employment or training, and to generally raise life aspirations.
This is achieved through football-based coaching, education and vocational sessions – all of which encourage participants to gain new skills, confidence and a coaching qualification.

The Aston Villa Foundation was one of five club charities chosen to deliver the Fairbridge programme – an individually tailored personal development programme for young people aged between 13 and 25.
It combines one-to-one support and group activities delivered by a dedicated team in Prince’s Trust centres.
The programme helps marginalised and disengaged young people who face a range of issues and barriers and empowers them through positive opportunities, as well as helping them reengage with society.
The club has also supported the Team programme over the years. The team programme is a 12-week personal development course offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills and community projects along with a residential week.

The programme helps build confidence and motivation and encourages team members to think about their futures.

Over the past few years, the club has also supported the Celebrate Success Regional Awards, which help celebrate the achievements of young people that have transformed their lives to make a difference to not only themselves but within the community too.
