Football Fans in Training at Schalke (FFIT)

In the season 2016/2017, FC Schalke 04 introduced the Football Fans in Training programme (FFIT) in cooperation with the first and second Bundesliga. The twelve-week Football Fans in Training programme is a healthy living and weight loss programme that encourages the participants to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle. The programme runs together with the German Cancer Aid Foundation and the Institute for Therapy- and Health Research. Taking part in the programme, which follows the aims of achieving long-term changes is free of charge for the participants, which are men aged between 35 and 65 years old with a belly size of at least 100 cm.

 

In the course of the programme, the participants gain valuable information on healthy eating and take part in diverse physical activities. The training sessions, given by the staff of the club and voluntary coaches, take place at the training ground and facilitates of FC Schalke 04. The programme involves regular contact with former professional football players of the club.
